The primary objective of the league is to instill in the league participants of the community of Woolmarket and surrounding communities the standards of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority. All board members, officers, coaches, team/league volunteers and players should recognize that attainment of exceptional athletic skill and winning games is of little importance to the league.
The secondary objective of the league is to improve the quality of baseball and softball in the community by improving player skills and knowledge of the respective games. The result of this objective is to have more players advancing to the next level with improved skills and knowledge. The WYBSL will fund and operate in cooperation with the Harrison County Parks and Recreation Department, a recreational baseball and softball program for all registered players. Adult volunteers are necessary for league/team viability and are welcome provided they meet screening standards set forth in league by laws for volunteer coaches and other positions necessary for the success of WYBSL.
